Peter Dampier — new Altairika partner from Hong Kong

News Interviews
We are expanding and opening a new country on the Altairika map! Meet Peter Dampier — our new partner from Hong Kong.

Every new partner joining the franchise is a significant event for us! We asked Peter some questions to get to know him a little better and find out why he chose the Virtual Encyclopedia.

🔹 Let’s get to know! Please, tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a permanent resident in Hong Kong, having moved here from the UK in 2014 with my wife Svetlana and two daughters: Sasha 10 y.o. and Alisa 8 y.o. We live in Discovery Bay on Lantau Island. I am a chartered surveyor and have worked in the construction industry for over 35 years with the last 20 years in Director roles, primarily in business development and marketing in the UK, India, South East Asia and Hong Kong.

🔹 Why did you decide to become a partner of Altairika?
Like many people the pandemic made me consider my priorities, goals, objectives / work life balance and I had always wanted to start my own business but either the timing / potential of the opportunity didn’t feel right, but that wait is now over.

Hong Kong School children have arguably suffered more than most during the pandemic, and as a father of Sasha and Alisa I saw this first hand. So I started looking at ways to supplement their education using VR to take them to places that they physically could not go to, while doing this I then came across this business opportunity also to provide this at scale to Hong Kong children. With Covid restrictions in Hong Kong finally easing with hopefully more relaxation to follow, the wait to launch is over.

The expected growth of Virtual Reality over the next 7 years is well documented and I see education as a key sector and by providing VR as a Service to schools powered with Altairika VR Encyclopedia, VR-Enlightenment removes two key barriers to its current adoption, justification of the investment by the school in the equipment, and the technological challenge on teachers.

🔹 What are your goals and plans for the near future in the franchise?
Plans are to grow the business quickly in schools and recruit operators. I also see other opportunities in the corporate sector, and will initially offer Corporate Escape Experiences, as with Hongkongers not having been really able to travel for the last 3 years, the virtual world can provide a mind-nourishing escape.

We welcome Peter as a partner and wish him good luck and great achievements!
